Driving Directions:

Take the Long Island Expressway (east/westbound) to exit 62 north — Nicolls Road.

Proceed north on Nicolls Road for approximately 9 miles until you reach the FIRST entrance to the State University of New York at Stony Brook — Health Sciences Center Drive.

Make a right turn on to Loop Road, and proceed 6/10 of a mile to Patriot’s Road.

Make a right turn on to Patriot’s Road and the Long Island State Veterans Home’s visitor’s parking lot will be on your left.

By Railroad:


Take the Long Island Railroad’s Port Jefferson Branch to the Stony Brook station (next to the last stop).  The train station is at the border of the campus and bus service to the central campus is provided.

*Some trains require changing at Jamaica Station and some at Huntington Station.
